When asked to describe himself, Kite's first and only word was 'Resourceful'. With his concise and purposeful way of life, the Okinawa man lived the past 10 years without regrets. It wasn’t too much of a deviation from his hit man-like reputation when he decided (one-track mind he is) to become a conman, nickname – the Vortex. It was a name they gave him (it was your misfortune if you met him). He sucked you clean & dry. Out of money that is.
Ever since that fated National, Kite had learnt that being hard-nosed or overtly intelligent wasn’t enough to come out tops. He lacked power - the capacity to take what he wanted and he refused to die like some second rate star past his sell-by date. So like a hawk watching its prey, he observed his surroundings and found it in L’Atobe. He hauled in quite a bit in the Casino event and decided to go for the kill. Why look at the short-term benefits when the hotel was loaded with rich old farts like that airhead Atobe? Kite was about the bigger picture in life – to get his hearts content and all the wordly desires, even if it was at the expense of others. Who cares? Not Kite.
There was no waste in his movement, every step, every action had a reason and was a value-add to the greater scheme of things. Regardless of situation, he was all business-like, precise to a point. The ex-Higa Chu captain was known to epitomize cutthroat ruthlessness. Getting his hands dirty was part and parcel of the job. The end result justified its means. But even the greatest talent needed a big break and there was nowhere better than LA security team.
